After turning puny 5 dollar leftovers of my previous bankroll into a good chunk of money in one month, my bankroll was back to 990 dollars. 500 of those came from an ITM placement in the Sunday Million, which i qualified for thru a 3k field MTT and rest was from grinding 4 tables 3,40 – 16 dollar 18 man Turbos (about 400 SnGs played). I am unable to break the 1k mark and have lost around 80 dollars in couple of days, i am breaking even, running bad and just cant seem to place ITM enough to break this streak. I would like to think i am an alright player at these stakes and have been doing 20 game blocks on stars that are good for placing me in top 30 on the SnG Leaderboard.
Since i first started playing July 2008 i am about breakeven on the SnGs, and i have been playing recklessly before taking shots at 100 dollar games and things like that. I have wised up since then and have been winning, but again this downswing is hard on me. Sometime in October i cashed out about 500 dollars and \”quit\” poker. I picked it up again before Christmas and run good until last week, since i started playing again i have been breathing and dreaming poker, playing 2-10 hours a day. Last week i stared running bad, and havent really seen much improvement yet, which i think has damaged my game a little bit.
I think i need a break from the game, but i dont want to take a break, even while losing i enjoy playing poker. I realize these swings are part of the game and i need to handle it if i really want to make serious money. Yes, i want to go pro, but i am starting to realize how this job can be a living hell for a player. I wish i had people around me to coach and stuff like that, but i am pretty much alone in this.
